Emily Garland

Description: Emily is a food artist specialising in 3D biscuit building. Drawing on years of baking experience and a passion for woodwork and construction, she founded Maid of Gingerbread in 2010 and has since produced show-stopping edible centrepieces for clients including Lily Vanilli, Zizzi, Harrods and Fortnum & Mason.
Based in East London, she has become known for her original designs and intricate details, always incorporating a sense of fun and colour into her work. The spectacular creations are all designed from scratch and made by hand, no cookie cutters! Not only is Emily a master of gingerbread she also bakes cakes and biscuits of all flavours.
In her workshops Emily teaches her particular style of gingerbread construction and decoration including lots of tricks and tips. Participants learn how to create beautiful modern designs out of biscuit – an amazingly versatile (and delicious!) building material.
